A suspect has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a Florida mother and injured another.
Shane L. Cruz Jr. was arrested Wednesday and charged with vehicular homicide, grand theft auto and leaving the scene of a crash involving a death, MyFoxOrlando.com reported.
The 21-year-old allegedly slammed a stolen minivan into a Nissan, killing passenger Laguadia Terry, and sending driver Sterling Slaton to the hospital. Police say Cruz then ran from the crash scene.
The single mother had reportedly just passed a college exam to become a nurse.
Terry’s 3-year-old daughter is staying with a grandmother, MyFoxOrlando.com reported.
